Last October 7, 2025, we celebrated the Difference Makers—those who go above and beyond to power our mission forward.
Partner of the Year
The Houston Symphony’s Community-Embedded Musicians program has become an extraordinary part of the CarePartners family, bringing healing, joy, and connection through the power of music. Their therapeutic and interactive performances spark memory, expression, and engagement for individuals living with dementia. They go beyond traditional performances—building relationships, tailoring programs, and even co‑creating productions alongside our participants. Their presence strengthens our mission of compassionate, person‑centered care.
For their dedication and profound impact, we are honored to recognize the Houston Symphony’s Community-Embedded Musicians as our 2025 Partner of the Year.
Dr. Ronald H. Sunderland Volunteer of the Year
Karla Lundquist has made a remarkable impact across several of our Gathering Place programs. From helping launch a program at the Mamie George Community Center with only one volunteer—herself—to inspiring others to join because of her example, Karla’s influence has been undeniable.
She now volunteers at three Gathering Place sites—Christ Church Sugar Land, Mamie George, and St. John Vianney—where she brings strong leadership, positivity, and initiative. Whether setting up, serving food, contributing resources, or personally reaching out to families and volunteers, Karla consistently goes above and beyond. Her dedication has strengthened our programs and enriched the lives of everyone she serves.
